The emphasis differs between Taekwondo and kickboxing. Taekwondo is a martial art that emphasizes kicks, with hand strikes serving as a secondary weapon. In contrast, kickboxing emphasizes the use of all limbs as weapons, such as kicks, punches, and knee strikes.
The Judo syllabus teaches submissions, including choke-holds(without neck cranking) and joint locks. However, most people won’t notice there are submissions because Judo’s primary emphasis is on techniques that involve throwing your opponent to the ground to win the match.
UFC fighters get tested for various banned substances both in and off competition. Since 2015, the UFC has been cooperating with the biggest anti-doping agency called USADA. This agency handles the testing, analyzes the results and punishes the fighters if they violate the rules.
To be the undisputed champion in the UFC means you are the number one fighter in your weight class. There is only one championship belt in each weight class, and the fighter holding that belt is considered the undisputed champion.
The UFC rankings system is very straightforward. More than 20 media members from various MMA networks vote on the rankings. Their job each week is to vote on the top 15 fighters in each weight class. The UFC then uses their votes to determine fighters’ position in the rankings.
